Local Physiotherapist introducing myself

Postby andrew mccarter » Mon May 08, 2017 10:20 am

Good morning.

My name is Andrew McCarter. I have recently opened a private physiotherapy and sports injuries clinic in Streatham Common.

I have worked for the past 10 years in private practice and within the NHS. In addition I have worked in elite sport including working for the Irish Rugby Team and the Irish Female Cricket Team.

I am an Extended Scope Practitioner (ESP) in the NHS specialising in back pain. The role requires high levels of assessment and treatment skills for complex patients and requires ordering of imaging, onward referral to other departments and liaising with orthopaedic doctors. I am therefore aware when patients may need further interventions or assessment for their optimum outcome.

My other role is as a clinical specialist in A&E. This role highlights my skill at assessment, appropriate diagnosis and management of acute and long standing injuries.

I am a member of the Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP). This is a group of 1100 members worldwide who have undertaken ‘extensive post graduate study and reached a recognised standard of excellence in neuromusculoskeletal physiotherapy’ (https://macpweb.org/home).

I am incredibly passionate about physiotherapy and do not believe in over-treating clients. My main aim is to give them a clear explanation of the issue and the necessary tools to recover.

Please let me if I can be of service. You can access my website at http://www.mccarterphysiotherapy.com and either get in touch with me via the contact form or email me at info@mccarterphysiotherapy.com
